He was dating someone at the time, and I noticed that he treats most people this way.  He just seems to like to say hi to everyone and be friendly.

Is there any particular way to "know" if a guy likes you if he sends confusing messages like that?
Like by comparing his actions to others?  What are other subtle clues?

Or your attention is harder to get.
