You people should shut the fuck up and listen to him. It worked for me, it worked for anybody. Frankly you're an idiot if you don't think that positive thinking will at least help you out.

You most likely have never experienced depression.
You can fix 'the blues' with positive thinking. Not depression.

What? Can I get some proof of how you're able to control chemicals in your body...?

You can only prove it to yourself by doing what I just said.

Believing is all well and good, but you can't just quit say... smoking because you want to. Nicotine patches exist for a reason.

Nicotine patches exist to make money, just like anti-depressants exist to make money.

There are things that doctors don't want you to know, and thats the things that i'm telling you.

I'm trusting my doctor over some guy named mr. positive from LW, who is probably high on xanax.

Why get high on drugs, if you can get high of life itself?

stfu. And i don't know, i'm not the one who's high on xanax mr. 'positive'.

You can't fix depression, because you don't "believe" that you can

oh shit man. i'm cured now. thanks!

Well if you "believe" that you are cured, then you will be. Its really that simple.

It exists in your own mind, only you can get rid of it.

Too many people "hope" there depression will go away, and thats why it never does.

by the way... do you even know what chemicals your talking about in the original post?

The 2 main chemicals that depression in involves in, are dopamine and adrenaline.

But only you can create your own level of dopamine and adrenaline...

Adrenaline goes up when you are on a roller coaster doesnt it?.... So why wouldnt it go up by thinking positive thought?

Serotonin, not adrenaline... you're basic thinking on this is correct though.

...Do you know anything about neurochemistry?

Of course positive thinking helps but saying it's the ONLY factor is absolute bullshit and goes against most research done of the subject. Learning to think in a positive manner is an important step for those who have been depressed, hence why those recovering often see a psychiatrist but at the same time take SSRIs.

Mind over matter only takes you so far, the most successful people in life know this, and they do know there are limits set on a material level.

To be perfectly honest, I don't believe you or wallop have ever experienced true depression. Could you have both had some hard times? Sure. But depression is an ongoing mental ailment that more often then not does require medical treatment, not simply "wishing it away."

There are certain things you can't just stop with happy thoughts. You can't wish your body to make correctly formed cells when you have sickle cell anemia. You can't wish your body to stop creating tumors when you have cancer. Your mind can't do everything, and depression is just as material as cancer and sickle cell anemia.

I stand corrected, serotonin also plays a huge part in depression.

But it works in the same way, why take drugs to increase the chemical, when you can simply do it yourself?

Its not about "trying" to think positive...... you just do it, because you "believe" that you can

If you don't think 1 negative thought in your mind.... then you can't possibly feel depressed, because there is no longer anything to cause that feeling.

It's not rocket science that im teaching, its just the simple truth that will work, if you "believe" that it will.

But because so many people are convinced (in there own mind) that it wont work, they will never make it happen.

Sorry, but I don't listen to anything that isn't back up by any sort of study. Lay off the xanax and go find someone to love you.

Attention everyone! You can now stop cancer just by thinking it doesn't exist! It really works! Mr Positive said if you don't acknowledge things your body does then they won't happen!

The most successful people in the world don't know any limits..... they don't set any, they just keep going for bigger and better, and they never stop.

If you set yourself a "limit".... then you will only ever reach that "limit

No no and no....

I never said "wishing"..... wishing is another form of "hoping" and "trying"

Don't "try" don't "hope" don't "wish"......... just "do it"

Actually, if you check studies, you will find that positive people, are healthier, are less likely to catch anything, and they ultimately live longer than people who "believe" there depressed.
