ok so recently, i just discovered writing as my passion. more specifically journalism. p.s. i'm a freshman in college.
since i have just recently developed an ineterest, i have no resume. no writing samples. i have never even worked on a school newspaper. and it seems like all possible internships want you to have some sort experience...which i don't have!!
in my journalism class, this woman named wendy from link tv came as a guest speaker. she talked about her career and gave us advice about doing whatever it takes to get our foot in the door.
i got her card after class and she said we could email her about possible internships and stuff.
so i emailed her and she was really friendly and forwarded it to some woman who handles the internships at link tv. and said if i got stuck, she would try to dislodge me.
so the woman who handles the internships said she was interviewing people and said to bring in my resume and cover letter. oh great. no experience.
i feel like my passion is coming to a dead end. should i email wendy and ask her for some advice? afterall, she did come to our journalism class and gave us advice. but i don't really know where to go from here....
should i email her and ask for some advice/help?
but then again, she's a VERY busy woman and i don't know if she'll want to hear about some random college student complaining about how they can't get any internships...but should i give it a shot anyways?
