I'm trying to convert flac files onto my itunes and I have everything but one step.
the tutorial says that I have to go to itunes, and go to my preferences and change my importing to mP3.
I can't find my importing options menu.

the program says to go to edit, preferences, advanced, then importing.
I don't even have an importing option.

Where is mine?

Try Edit > Preferences then under the General Tab there's an Import Settings button about halfway down.
Click that and you can change the Import Using box to MP3
