The new test is better. I passed it without the use of google or any other stuff, yay. It's less biased than the last but probably more suited to those not clued-in with global affairs and the like.

I like the new test.  I also passed it without google.  And it was just plain old more fun to take.  And it is less biased, which will mean less complaining.

I never really took the old test, but I'm guessing this is more straight forward? I thought it was very easy, and had more to do with logic.

So people googled on the last test? Isnt that cheating supposidely? Yep... I like this a lot better.

I must point out the following problems with the test:

1: The tags question is unfair to any colourblind members we may have.
2: "We're going out Saturday and Sunday" should be "We're going out ON Saturday and Sunday".
3: The British method of punctuation puts the fullstop (period) AFTER the quotation marks: John said, "put it down". Though this is archaic usage now, it is still used by some people.

Benja.

PS: if people are smart enough to Google, then they are smart enough to use it instead of replying with "Wots suchandsuch mean??!?lol" to every other post.

I fail to see how the concept of color tags have any effect on a blind person, as the color itself was not the issue, but the tags used to create such a color.

True. Thats was simply created for confusing the inferior minds on the forum. If anything color blind people have an advantage on that question. Tags arent very hard. I mastered them in less than a day.

Anyway, the only one I had trouble with was the analogy one. I almost selected Pumpkinent!

indeed. it is the wrong color that throws people off. it says green tect but is blue. so color blind people would rock out. I am confused as to why we had to retake the test. seems dumb to me. but whatever, i passed the first time and i passed again....

The new test was a great impovement over the first test. It was much more balanced than the first test, and I really liked the fact that it contained a little bit more mathematics and logic. The new time limit also makes it particularly interesting and renders any possible cheating that much more difficult, IMHO. My heart was actually pounding a bit because of the time limit!

Great job, David!

Indeed, I do applaud the revised test.

The replacement of supermarkets with "baseball fields" -- was that a factual error, or just something to change?

And the addition of "or any other region" to that one question makes it clearer that you're NOT supposed to select something.

FINALLY I can freaking post here! I had issues with the wording of some of the questions, but didn't want to bother a mod (most of the issues have been resolved, though, thank you).

The time zone question iirked me because the correct answer wasn't there to begin with. There are approximately 11 time zones in the United States when you include Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin islands. The answers we were given were nowhere near that high.

Also, the 3000 people in a town in europe one was bothersome too; Well, yeah, they wouldn't have electricity, but they also wouldn't have supermarkets, so it becomes "which answer is more correct?" and bah. Hate.

It took me a few tries to pass it because I was overthinking things. Mostly, I just ended up yelling "THIS IS STUPID! I am in COLLEGE and I can't PASS this stupid internet test. STUPID. Stupid." lol

Most small towns in Europe, though small, do not live in the stone ages.

w00t! Didn't look up any answers for the new test. The new test is much better. It tests you on stuff you SHOULD know as opposed to random facts. Sadly, it doesn't tell you your final score if you pass. *sigh. Oh well... I'm still in! woohoo!

Actually small European towns DO have electricity.

That question was, I'm sure, designed to root out idiot Americans who think Europe is perpetually medieval, all Arabs ride camels and Africans wear skins and throw spears.

Somehow you slipped through.

Again, I overthink things. Yes, MOST small european towns would have electricity. Duh. But I'm sure there's like? one or two where the WHOLE TOWN doesn't. I mean? Hell, there's places in america like that. I figured the question meant everybody in that town had electricity, not just one or two people or major buildings like the city center/city hall.

I currently live in a town (in california, no less) of approximately 5,000 and there's quite a few people who don't have/don't choose to have electricity. They're self-sufficient.

I can say with almost 100% certainty that ALL European TOWNS have electricity.

"I figured the question meant everybody in that town had electricity, not just one or two people or major buildings like the city center/city hall."

You're confusing Europe with Amazonian areas of Brazil. Stop it.

Have you ever BEEN to Europe?

In fact...have you ever left your own country?
