I purchased the Spore game today and I loaded it on my desktop with no problems until it came time to register it, seeing as I forgot there was no internet attached to that computer.

So I tried to install it on my laptop and the first time it went off without a hitch, but never started up when I hit run. It never asked me to register it online, and it never made a desktop icon or access directory. I figured it didn't install properly, so I uninstalled it from the control panel and restarted my computer. I tried it again and it failed, saying that one of the files or directories were corrupt in the install files and prompted me to either abort or ignore it.

I went to the EA website and made my account and registered the game already. While there, I looked up the game and checked to make sure my computer could support it. It's a Vista Home Premium and EA assured me that it was able to run the game.

I clicked ignore and its continuing to load now-- but will that effect the game play??

Does anyone have a clue as to what is wrong??

Go to your start button. Go to games. You'll see the icon with all the other preinstalled games. Ie. Solitaire and shit.

Hmm. I remember having the EXACT same problem as you did. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it 3 times. Finally I looked in the games cache thing and it was there. I dont know what to tell you. Definitely frustrating.
