the sad thing is that this really does happen. :(
------- Some people go, "booo," they go, "quack quack," they go, "kee" Some people have nothing and want nothing and are free Some people want to burn the world with their greed I just want to have fun.

Wow, that's lame. I didn't think any respectable rehab center would actually admit someone for marijuana. But then again, not all rehab centers are respectable, I suppose.

It's amazing what people will do for bits of woven cotton. Sad, but confounding.

Any drug with the power to change someone's state of mind like THC has is going to be addictive (psychologically, of course) for some people.
I understand your point but I would like to stress here my perceived difference between an addiction and a mere strong desire. I use addiction in the strictest sense of the term. To the effect that if the person does not have the drug in question in their body metabolizing, they cannot function normally. For example, I work a fairly stressful job for meager pay. At the end of the night, I feel MUCH better if I smoke a blunt, but at the same time, sometimes I simply do not have the money to spend. I acknowledge this, say "Damn, that sucks." and move on. At the same time, I have known people who, when under stress, have had a craving for a cigarette, and if they did not have one, they became even angrier and more stressed-out BECAUSE they didn't have one, in addition to the original stressor. It may sound harsh, but I consider "psychological dependence" within a person of apparently normal mental competence the equivalent of being a pussy. Of course, few people want to say that, since it is difficult to measure competence with a standard unit (IQ test are very general) and so we're expected to hold everyone to the same standards they hold themselves to. I do not have a problem with this, as long as it isn't detracting from a person's actual potential. Regardless, this is how I view addiction.
I'm sure people have sucked dick for it. I know people who've stolen for/it.
I wasn't actually trying to go anywhere with that. I'm sure there are plenty of people who've done this, because there are some pretty mental people in the world, and I've personally heard a handful of stories of certain girls sucking dick for some weed.
No one would claim that cigarettes aren't addictive yet I've never heard of anyone sucking dick for a cigarette. Nicotine is supposed to be more addictive than heroin but cigs are comparitively cheap and it's fairly easy to smoke someone else's if you're out. I guess the same goes for weed.
I guarantee someone has sucked dick for a cigarette. Maybe it's just because I'm in a city with a high poverty rate (in Georgia, no less) but I'm close to willing to bet a QP that I could find someone I know who has done it. As for smoking someone else's weed, I can't imagine that occurs too much, apart from between good friends. Around here, a TON of people smoke, but maybe a tenth of them actually have weed. On that note, about a tenth of the population has more "friends" than those who intermingle with each other without that defined interest. I've experienced this phenomenon quite often first-hand, and it's about as annoying as it is expensive. Post edited at 12:53 pm on July 1, 2009 by Audioblood
