does it really take til 2 weeks after birth to know for sure if you have post partum depression??
my doctor said i was high risk because of all the losses last may while i was pregnant. i gave birth to my son exactly a week ago and i have never cried so much or been this depressed...
i know one of the symptoms is trying/thinking about harming your child, but i would NEVER harm my baby boy he is my world im just idk..

It's just the exhaustion of motherhood. I cried every damn day for the first 6 weeks and I know I did not have PPD.

I would keep an eye on it. It probably is just adjustment and exhaustion. Your hormones also take a nosedive around day 3 and continue to plummet for a few days.

I've barely cried in my entire life and I hit day 3 and sat in a crowded hospital and bawled on the phone to my mother of all people, who I don't even like lol. The next day I was fine. They test here for PPD routinely and I aced every test with flying colors.

But it is serious so I would keep an eye on it. It never hurts to talk to a therapist or Doctor about it either. :-)
