I agree totally with James here. You know, people around you don't always understand, because they either haven't, or are not going through the same thing. Throw away comments like you don't need medications, well, it's silly. Of course you need them, otherwise you wouldn't have been prescribed them. There is nothing wrong at all with taking medications to help you overcome depression, and it's just a support aid to help you get there quicker. I do understand how you feel about being let down, I think everyone reading this would have felt let down by a friend at some point in their life, and I doubt this will be the last time in your life where you feel as if you could have got more support from a close friend. All you can do is feel sorry for people who don't understand, and not let the comments upset you. They don't live your life, and they don't know what it's like.
Ironically enough, the people close to you that hardly understand or support you are the first people to come talk to you when they have problems or situations, and expect you to fully understand them. It's totally unfair, and yet, it happens all of the time. They brush your problems off as if you're just imagining them, and yet if it was them, it's a serious problem and you should be there for them :) Yet, where were they for you?
If a close friend is not going to be there for you, or support you or even understand to a small % what you're going through, then you need to consider, why is this person your friend? I mean, when you think of it, surely the closest people to you should understand you more than anyone else. And if they don't, then it says a lot about the friendship you both have.
I wish you good luck in getting through your depression, I am sure you will be feeling much better soon.
