No, it's not safe. If he won't go to sleep in a crib/bassinet, you might have to hold him/rock him until he falls asleep. Then put him in his crib.

Then you're just going to have to make him. Don't get him used to sleeping with you. He's 6 days old, he'll learn to sleep in his bassinet. Just do NOT let him sleep in bed with you. I've heard of hundreds of mothers smothering their children. When my son was born, he cried two nights in a roll because he didn't want to sleep in his crib, so I'd sit next to him and put my hand on his chest and he'd fall asleep. Sit next to him and comfort him and let him know you're there, just do NOT let him sleep in bed with you. I'm not even kidding. Also, don't put anything in the bassinet. Swaddle him in a blanket and that's it.
