My question is:

IF i bought an acoustic-electric guitar, would the sound be just as good acoustically if i just bought a plain acoustic guitar? I don't plan on using the amp A LOT.

it is the same, but If you are not using a elec-acou amp, turn down the gain and use the preamp  eq controls on the actual guitar- you can use the amp controls, but slightly.

It is not as good as playing an electric when you are using an amp with distortion, you won't be able to play fast easily.

Two of my friends have acoustics like that, where you can also plug it into an amp. They don't really use it through the amp much, and the sound sounds great when compared to a regular acoustic. If you buy a decent enough acoustic-electric then there should be no problem with acoustic quality.

The accoustic quality will be the same as a normal accoustic.
