I am sick of people saying, "No, I am Catholic" in response to someone asking if they are a Christian. A Christian is a general follower of Christ, and Catholicism is a denomination of the religion, but a Catholic is still considered a Christian. Please correct me if I am wrong and upset for no reason, lol

I'd rather not cite wikipedia, but it clearly states that Roman Catholicism is a denomination of Christianity.

Christianity is the belief in the Abrahamic God and Jesus as Christ the Savior who died for our sins.  Catholicism believes in this and thus is a Christian denomination.

Catholicism and Protestantism though are separate faiths, although both are still defined as Christian religions.
