It's a denomination of it. So yes, it is Christianity.

Christianity has many forms, of which Catholics, Protestants, Baptists, Episcopalians and many more are a part .

You're wrong. They are two seperate religions. Catholicism is even stricter than christians anyway.

Glad you have clueless in your name.

Yes it is a form of christianity.
Yes they are more strict than protestants but they still believe in jesus christ dieing on the cross.
Therefore they are christian.

There are two forms of christianity.
Protestant and Catholics.

People who say they are christian they are catholic prolly don't understand the whole religion thing to begin with and are just going along with it because it was how they were raised

I am sick of people saying, "No, I am Catholic" in response to someone asking if they are a Christian. A Christian is a general follower of Christ, and Catholicism is a denomination of the religion, but a Catholic is still considered a Christian. Please correct me if I am wrong and upset for no reason, lol

You're right. Catholicism, Anglicanism, Lutheranism etc. are all forms of Christianity.

Neither Catholics nor "Christians" are Christians.

http://christianity.about.com/od/denominations/p/christiantoday.htm

There are 38000 denominations that claim they are christian, all with very different takes on what it means to be a Christian. It is clear that there is no central criteria for being a Christian. You can claim it is "following Jesus", but that is too vague since "following" and "Jesus" are left undefined.

No.

It is a branch off from Christianity. Not a section of it.

Yes they believe in the same morals/values. But their belief is different.

ETC.

Not at all, since by "Christians" with quotes, I don't mean Christians (without quotes), but merely people who think they are Christians.

Catholicism isn't a "branch" of Christianity.

Roman Catholicism was the original church that developed during the time of the Roman Empire, and later the Protestant churches split off from it.

In short, it's the trunk, and protestant sects are the "branches"

No.  Again, Christianity is the overall definition of religions which have faith in the Abrahamic God and Jesus as the Savior from sin.  That is why Catholicism is a 'branch' of Christianity.

Catholicism and Protestantism though are different in practices.
