Its like, lets say I fall asleep at midnight, I will be up again at 3am give or take a few minutes. But its like my whole life I've been like this, even when I was much younger I couldn't sleep for long periods of time.
I mean right now I'm lucky to even get 3 hours of sleep a night because I'm starting to wake up sooner than 3 hours.
Is there anyway to stop this so I sleep for a longer time?

take advantage of that shit if you don't feel tired
Advantage of what?
I think he means take advantage of all the extra hours in the day that you have.
Everyone has their own sleep patterns, and usually I would've just thought it's just your teenage hormones playing up. But if you've been like this your whole life, that's a tad unusual. Perhaps you should see your doctor? Three hours isn't enough sleep to run on efficiently. Maybe make yourself stay in bed instead of rewarding yourself with getting up?

the problem with that is, you wake up and feel great so you cant go back to sleep. and then you gotta start your day just when you're starting to get tired. im having the same problem lately, only 5 hours in stead of three. but i go to bed at 12 dead tired after being awake for 20- wake up at 5 am.. but i dont go to work til 5pm. so i stay awake for 12 hours before i start my shift. it's ridiculous.
I have the same problem! I found this post when I searched in google. Why can't I sleep more than 3 hours? I don't know what to do anymore. The lack of sleep has been going on for over a month now. I wake up at all different times. Weather I go to sleep at 8pm, wake up at 11. If I go to sleep at 1am wake up at 4 am. I'm going insane!!!! I have had a lot of stress in my life lately and my eating habits have changed. I think that might be a contributing factor, if not I don't know any cure! Wish there was a simple answer.
