My hard drive problem has progressed to the point where I can't get into my computer any more. I have irreplaceable files on there.

How can I get these files off of there?

I can't use my Xubuntu disk to get to my hard drive, and Windows says it had an error, and I tried booting into Safe Mode, and it just restarts.

Does it just need the NTFS drivers for Xubuntu? It should be able to get to it, unless its literally dead.

I tried using the Live disk, and it wouldn't boot into it. I think it was talking about a Block (0,0) error.

sounds pretty much like mechanical failure of the disc... there may be nothing left to do however there are companies that will be able to save your data even on the brink of a dead hdd, but they cost an arm and a leg and i dont know if they do it for consumer level people ad not just buisnesses
