I have a Logitech X-530 Sound system and its all wired up to be my home theater system, But the most annoying thing is that it dosnt have a remote to controll Volume lvls.

Is it possible to build a IR recevier and attach it to the motherboard inside the system?

You could always try and see if it works. :)  I would imagine you would just have to make sure your motherboard is compatible with changes such as these.
