I am working at a summer job right now at a theme park. The thing is I'm only getting like 8 hours a week or so. I'm very disappointed. I thought i was going to be working close to every day and i had alot of plans of what i was going to do with my money. The week before i was only given like 1 day in the week. I talked to my manager and she said the next week i would get my set schedule for the summer. I looked on it and im only working 2 days for like 6 hours. I'm just not sure what to do. I plan on talking to the manager about it but i fear she'll just say she can't do anything. There is a chart that tells you when you work. I see some people are working 4 or 5 days during the week. Maybe i need to switch the department i am working in because I work in the food so maybe I can switch to janitorial work or catering. But this still sucks, i was hoping to work atleast 25 hours a week.

I would try to look for another job, and make sure you get a better deal with them. But, that being said, don't leave your current job until you have something else lined up, something is better than nothing.

I know what you mean. I think a lot of places overstaff in the summer, they hire too many people. I've been at this place for a year. During the school year, when there's no temps, I would get 25-30 hours a week. This week I got 21. Its a joke, but its what a lot of these places do.
