You have to prepare about 30 secs of confidence and make a quick introduction to someone you don't know.
Think about it this way.
They can only say they don't wanna talk and unless they are extremely cruel they'll insult you. But most people are too afraid to make a first move. You are not alone.

I used to be shy. Show people your personallity and even though all won't like you, lots of people will. Make yourself more social. Just remember that everybody are humans just like you, rejection isn't the worst thing that can happen to you
