The only literature on this subject that has identified a causal link was a book called Dressed to Kill.
The study was not published for peer review, the data has not been released for peer analysis, no statistical test were carried out on the data and the "study", if it can be called that, was not controlled.
I have discussed this with ZenaGirl before and we the conclusion that she reached was that she felt better safe than sorry not wearing a bra due to a possible link despite the lack of any evidence of a causal link.
I don't care either way. Some girls clearly need to wear them, a lot clearly don't but often sadly do because of the rules and obligations that society places on them.

I'm not sure I said you did. I just think it's dishonest to say that there are plenty of studies that show it is unhealthy, carcinogenic, even.

i said there are studies that show what appears to be a clear link. and doctors don't seem to disagree whatsoever from what i have seen. especially to those who have breast cancer in their family history.
i don't see a point in arguing against this, at all. if you're a girl and want to wear a bra 24 hours a day, even though there's no real reason to anyway, then go ahead. just be aware of what's been observed. it's not taking a lot out of your day to unhook your bra to go to bed at night. let's not pretend like it is.

You said there were "plenty" of studies that show a link. This is not true.
I agree about wearing bras to bed, it's odd to say the least. But does it cause cancer? If it does, it does it in a very sneaky way.
Oh and if anyone here has ever studied anatomy take a look at the attempts to explain the science behind the causal link, it is laugh out loud funny, I kid you not.

Oh I forgot to respond to that bit.
Can you back up your assertion that "doctors don't seem to diagree"? I am pretty sure anyone trained in epidemiology would laugh if they read Dressed to Kill. I know what my lecturer would say.

Oh you mean your doctor? Well I would be interested to talk to him or her about why they've come to that conclusion and what evidence they have based it on.
As far as I can see there is a consensus amongst epidemiologists and it is firmly against the position you hold.
The US National Cancer Institute, the American Cancer Society and the US National Institutes of Health are three organisations full to the brim with epidemiologists who disagree with you, for example.
But as long as chain emails exist so will the myths they carry. It's a public health nightmare, I can tell you.

yeah, women running around without bras is a nightmare OH NOOOOOOOOO. what will the public do about this?!
i should have listened to the lecturer that came to my middle school before i moved who tried to tell us after a "cancer scare" that the chemicals from the farms weren't doing any harm to people and not to worry about that being a contributor. oh nooo.

women running around without bras is a nightmare, because most attractive women in the world already don't wear bras so we would just be adding in the filth.

When people swallow whatever horseshit they're sold on the internet that is a pretty sad and often dangerous state of affairs.
MMR scare, anyone?
