Every cancer link begins when someone notices a casual association between a substance or activity and cancer.  When the rate of lung cancer began soaring in the twentieth century researchers became curious why- what had changed in the recent history to cause this sudden jump?  In this case it was the popularity of smoking. Even so- for many years skeptics ridiculed this association and some still do even now when the evidence is undeniable.

Well breast cancer has also skyrocketed in the twentieth century- and curiously this happen only in advanced countries where bra wearing became fashionable.  Singer and Grismaijer began wondering about this and began conducting interviews with breast cancer victims and found nearly all were heavy bra wearers.  But the lingerie industry is a billion dollar mammoth who will fight any such suggestion just as smokers and the tobacco industry denied any smoking-cancer link for decades.

Not yet, it will take more research and overcoming enormous resistance from the lingerie industry before this happens. Look how long it took for such labeling of cigarettes.

Does wearing underwear which supports my testicles cause testicular cancer?

Ah- interesting that you should mention this- there is speculation that it may- it has long been known that boys with undesended testicles (cryptorchidism) are at great risk of testicular cancer.  It is believed that heat accelerates meiosis(cell division) in glands like testicles and breasts- which can become out of control and turn into cancer.

Ok I am not listening to you anymore. There are tribes that still exist that will work out for you.

Sure- close your eyes and ears and mind.  That's always helpful.

Indeed. Except the first studies linking cancer and smoking were real studies, and they had real science behind them.

No matter how many times you bring up the tobacco smoking saga it still doesn't change the fact that there is no link. At all. So if I see people on the internet, or anywhere else, scaring people by saying there is I will shoot them down.

Again I'd really like some evidence that the lingerie industry is surpressing studies.

It's pretty obvious why you choose to believe in these things about clothes. But please, keep your religion out of Teen Health, Hygiene & Fitness. This is a place where people use science to help people. What you are doing is inventing things that fit with your personal dogma about clothes and it uneccessarily scares people.

Oh I figured it was about time for you to show up.  You have your own axe to grind.
As for comparison with tobacco- the bra-cancer link is where tobacco was some 50 years ago when suspicions were just forming- before formal studies or significant publicity.
And I'm sure that if you had been around then you would have been poohing that speculation as well.
Every item on the EPA carcinogen list had people who insisted it was harmless.

If I had been around then I would have seen the studies that demonstrated a strong link and I would have understand, at least very basically, the science of the theory.

All I am saying is that there is no evidence, and it is dishonest to say "there is evidence".

I am trained to help people make the right health choices, I am not here to push my own ideologies. Sorry if that offends you.

Are there case controlled studies? No- with carcinogenesis- it takes too long to do controlled studies- but demographic corollaries are evidence too.
If you observed that people who cross the street with their eyes closed get run over more often- that's evidence.

You could also observe that a lot more people die in nursing homes compared with nurseries. You could argue, using the same interview techniques used by those authors, that indeed it's true that this link exists and it is a very strong one. Hardly anyone comes out of nursing homes alive! Conclusion: shut down all the nursing homes and put the patients in nurseries where their care will be astronomically better.

---

You could also do proper studies, such as the ones used in the 50s on tobacco. You could do a retrospective cohort study, your complaint that "it takes too long" is not true.

That is so ridiculous.  There are obvious reasons people in nursing home tend to die- they are old or sick!  That's why they are in nursing homes in the first place!  There is no such confounding corollary with bras.
