when is she leaving for BCT? (basic training)
I know the terminolgoy, i was looking at enlisting before i met her, only to find that they wouldnt take me until i get 15 college credits under my belt. She leaves next summer, but the fact that we both know its coming, it bugs her, ive caught her crying about it, and it has pretty much the same effect on me.
They will take you now, you have to have 15 credits to become a PFC I do believe. It's better when you work your way up in grade.
You have to have a high school diploma though........which, i am lacking.
Are you already in college? If you aren't then tell them you want to get your GED, they might pay for it if you sign a contract. They payed for mine.

Its not always better to work your way up in grade, you get treated the same way when your lower enlisted E-4 and below. (not that you get treated poorly) but if you can make more money, when your in IET status by all means go for it. When you get to your unit it wont affect you adversely as long as your not a shit bag about it, and flaunt that you entered at a higher rank you should be fine Post edited at 9:17 pm on July 5, 2009 by PrintingFreak

And i agree completely, and that has nothing to do with my question. Mainly, i guess what i want to know, is how our relationship is going to be treated. Ive done a small amount of research, and it looks to me that unless we are married, we are not considered anything. Its not that im even against marraige, i want to marry her. But its not something i wanted to be forced to be able to have a life together......

And as far as my enlistment would go, the state i reside in has laws that have my hands tied until next April. at which point, my school will have already paid for me to take an HSED course, however, when i talked to a recruiter, i was told i would not be excepted unless i had 15 or more college credit hours.

I'm going to tell you what I experienced when I was in the Army. Long distance relationships do not last. In fact, all relationships struggle when it comes to the Military. Many girls in the Military are little sluts. I'm sure you don't want to here that, but it is true. All I have to say is Good Luck.

Well untill/unless you join, you wont have any true benefits from the army unless your married, The army will expect her to do her Duty just as if she was married, Deployments are tough but the army does offer services to assist you in being able to remain in contact via webcam and other messages.
