I think people withhold the right to hate an ethnic group purely by choice, and to like individuals in spite of that hate.
If anything that's not as bad as people who hold no prejudice against a group but hate individuals from that group. When racism turns to discrimination then there is a problem. But I think quietly hating a race isn't a bad thing as long as you don't act upon it. What's worse is when idiot internet whores pretend to be racist to seem cool.
It's not funny or cool to hate black people for the sake of it, you're a 13 year old fat kid who thinks being cool on the internet gives you worth in life, no it doesn't, yes I'm talking to you 4chan.

I get most of what your saying, but in the end racism will just end up being put up as a negative thing, because prejudice against a race/person/etc. will ultimately lead to action. Whether it's you or some other person.
