About a month and a half before I left school for the summer I started dating this girl who was a very good friend of mine.
She admitted to liking me since September and told me in April. We started dating not too long after she told me she liked me. I thought everything was going fine. We were both happy and the relationship seemed like it was going okay. Well, summer rolled around and after about a month and a half in, she was hardly talking to me. She never called, she never texted me, never tried to get into contact with me. When we hung out, everything seemed normal but outside of hanging out, we hardly talked.
Long story short, we talked one day for a really long time and decided we should go on a break. She was really unhappy with herself at the moment and she needed time to figure stuff out and get herself on the ground and worry about herself before she needed to think about a relationship.
She said she really cares about me a lot and I make her really happy and I believe her when she said that. She isn't the type of person to lie and lead people on.
We are planning on getting back together once school starts up again and she has herself stabilized a bit.
My question is... should I even get my hopes up over getting back together? I care about this girl a lot and I love to be with with.
We never talk and I don't know what she is thinking about all of this. There are days when I have such a hard time not being able to be with her and I feel like I should just suck it up and move on because nothing is going to happen.
Am I just setting myself up for heartbreak again? Has anyone else been in this type of situation?
