Hello, I'm trying to find a free (or less than $51.00) moviemaking program that would allow me to overlap clips without having to greenscreen.
You see, I'm trying to make a video of me fighting... myself.
Basically, It would be a shot from 1 angle (the camera would never move untill the next scene). I would film character A doing their action, then I'd cut and have character B do their action with the same exact background. How, then, could I completely merge the clips?
I'm good with trimming and timeing, so don't worry about that.
I wouldn't need a greenscreen since the background would never change for that scene.

What would you guys reccomend?

Note: I do not need to separate the person from the background, I only need to completely merge two clips. The background will, as i've said, remain the same.

Seperating the person from the background would take some expensive technology, if it's possible.

I DO NOT NEED TO SEPARATE THE PERSON FROM THE BACKGROUND.

YA, YA DO. If you just overlap the two clips you're only going to see one of them. The person in the clip that's behind won't just magically phase through.

You could try merging them, but in my experience that causes some erratic stuff, at least with AVS. Might work better with other software.

Nah, you can't do it because of the parts where the arms and stuff would overlap, the lower layer's arms would just go behind the background of the upper layer.

Overlapping them would block out one of them, as someone said.

You could chop it down the middle, but then you've got problems when the two people meet, like 4est said.
