it's called a utopia, and as we've seen from books like the giver and utopia itself, it just never happens.

John Lennon and his famous song "Imagine" pointed out that the world is separated by religions, countries, and the never-ending neglect of the hungry. In this song, he creates a world in which ALL people come together, not under a religion or certain country, but as the human race. As much as I would love to see all the bigotry and intolerance of others erased from the world, it does not seem natural in the way of humans. Does anyone else agree with me? Or does it just seem that way to me because the world has not yet experienced a peace of that magnitude?
I wondered the same thing the first few times I heard the song. Beautiful song, it is. I do think it is against human tendency for the entire world to exist is a state of perpetual peace. Socialism in its rawest form seems to me to be the best answer. But because of human tendency, socialism has generally resulted in a tyrannical government, if not at first then somewhere down the line. So my question is: "Is human tendency/nature definite?" I'm still having trouble with that one to this day. If you examine it from a natural perspective, you will notice the primary natural instinct is survival. This creates a self-centric perspective from which people view the rest of the world. I believe it is possible that we could one day train ourselves to abandon this instinct, but it would only be after extensive work on our parts.
