Someone asked me that and I couldn't respond.

I know how the theory works in practicality, but I don't know things like how new features are created with no precedent, or why multiple generations come up with identical new genes.

I was never taught Evolution in school, thanks to the good 'ol academics of Florida. That's sad.

I think this is a good place to start. I'll try and find a few more resources to help you out.

You are thinking about macro evolution. Not micor evolution. There is a difference. Micro evolution is solid irrefutable fact. You dont need to think we came from monkeys to know that evolution is FACT. That is just one side of evolution.

Nobody who has had a decent education in biology would ever claim that we "evolved from monkeys." Those words are words spoken by those who don't know any better but want to be offended anyway.

I was not claiming that we evolved from monkeys. I was doing the opposite of that :/

No. Our genes have 98% in common.
