as opposed to young people who think they're indestructable and do 90 in that 40 zone and end up splattered on the pavement...

Regardless, our reaction speed is much more quick and precise than that of an 80-year-old. I'm not saying speeding is better than going vastly under the speed limit, but teenagers are overall more in control physically.
