That's the part that really bothered me. My mom turns 50 in September and I still think of her as young. If something happens to other people it scares me to look at her, not to mention my dad being 60 years old.

Third, a death--especially one so sudden and so young for this time--is sad especially for someone held in such high regard worldwide, not just in America.  Regardless of whatever his personal issues were, he was a music genius.

So, RIP Michael Jackson, and thank you for your 'Thriller' dance.

P.S. to the person who said John Lennon couldn't be an American icon because he was European born--so what?  First he was a Beatle, and then when he was solo he was still greatly admired by every generation since his introduction to the music world in the late 50s.
