When I go to my Artist app (newest media player on vista) I used to see icons with album art for my artists, now they are seperated into alphebetical order and the usual drop down menue to change the view doesnt do anything...how do I change it back

You mean that button doesn't do anything? Try restarting your computer and media player and see if that does anything. You just need to click the arrow to the right of the pictured button and click something other than list (I like Tile the best, but I'm not sure what you want). Clicking the button itself should toggle between the views...
