i bet i could go right now and within 2 minutes find 10 fucking dumbass threads that were made anon that werent serious. why arent they getting their threads closed and having hard earned points subtracted?
Because no one reported them The mods don' spend all day hunting for anon abusers. If they come across one, they delete it. Otherwise it has to be reported for them to delete it.
And you can truthfully tell me you have never made a dumbass thread in anon?
Actually, no, I haven't.

You have had 47 posts deleted. Explain every one of them if u are going to sit here and lie to me telling me you have never had a lameass thread deleted from "misuse of anon."

It allows for our users to post sensitive information free from the fear of being criticized, ridiculed, or thought differently of by peers. However, it's highly important to note that the feature is strictly reserved for only the most sensitive of information!
To be honest, asking what an acronym used by other members stands for is not most sensitive at all. I think even you can agree on this. It's OK that you didn't want to be harassed by asking such a simple question. But according to the FAQs, that is not good enough reason to use the anon feature. The FAQ goes on to say:
In short, there are two requirements that need to be met before you should use the anonymous feature. The first requirement is that you must be asking for support or help in some way. The second requirement is that you must be revealing something that is reasonably private or embarrassing. If both of these stipulations are unmet, then you're expected to either use your regular account, or a second account.
I didn't see your topic but you were probably not revealing anything that is 'reasonably private.' In fact, you probably could of just privately messaged a member. Why could you just do that for such a simple question? Practically, anyone could answer your question about what an acronym stood for. Even if the first person you asked didn't know, it's not going out of your way to message someone else. And the FAQ tells you what to do next since you didn't meet the requirements: Use another account if it means that much to you. But again, the private message system is much quicker.
Our goal is to limit the anonymous feature to only necessary circumstances, not for trivial purposes.
Trivial purposes AKA what does "blah" stand for. I'm not surprised that you were fined 1 point. The FAQs are there for a reason and they were used in your case. It's hard to argue your point when technically your reasoning doesn't hold water and the rules are there for you to read.
------- And I'm the Devil. Now kindly undo these straps.
