The guidelines are set to limit the use of the anon feature because people will abuse it. Every topic would be anon and it would defeat the whole purpose of having the feature.

Who am I to judge?

Going by that philosophy, would there be any rules? A harasser could say, "Who are you judge my actions of contacting this member?" A moderator's position of being well A MODERATOR entitles him or her to judge actions of a member. David/Jesse promote members to a moderator position that they believe will make a fair and well constructed judgment based on the rules and guidelines.

So who are they to judge what is embarrassing or not?  Well, that's why they were promoted.

Anon is NOT only for serious issues.  The op here gave a very good reason for wanting the post to be anon.  I think it was ignorant and insensitive for the mods to close the thread, especially knowing the mentality of so many on this site, ridiculing people for not knowing something.

To the op, if you pm me the acronym, I'll be glad to tell you what it is if I know it, or you can look it up on urbandictionary.com     .....they've never let me down.
