It is a lot of money, but that is the cost of most public universities for four years, counting tuition and board. Does anybody have student loans of this amount? How much is your payment per month?

Some people don't have parents who will pay for college and are genius enough (or athletically inclined) to get a full ride to college.

I go to one of the most expensive schools in the nation and will likely graduate with a third of that debt.

Where the fuck are you going to school for $7000 for 4 years? I went to an average "state" school for $16,457 for ONE year. That's the lowest meal plan, barely full time (and you have to take more than full time to graduate in 4 years with a BA/BS).

For people who don't get any federal aid, debt will be close to 60,000. I mean, at the school I was going to, it's 17grand for the 09-10 school year, that means $68,000 in debt if you have to get loans for everything like I do.

If you google around, things like "How much will my loan payment be", you can find calculators that will tell you how much your payments are with info like the interest rate, principle, and how long you have to pay it (usually 10-15 years)

Good for you. Not everyone gets federal aid, scholarships, or have daddies who pay for everything. I won't get federal aid because my parents combined make 100,000 a year, but won't help me.

Why are you being forced to pay for everything via loans, yet aren't receiving any financial aid from your school?  My school charges over $50,000 a year for tuition and room/board, yet this is manageable because of the financial aid provided by the school through grants and whatnot.

That's a lot. And if I had to choose two time periods where I would rather cut off both my legs than have any debt in the US, I'd choose 1873 and now.

That's huge, in my opinion. I don't pay anything, I have enough scholarship money to drag me through.
