No, silly. You don't want to go into an advanced psych course if you know you don't quite remember the material that you *crammed* in for the AP exam. The intro psych course at your school will probably more in-depth and will prepare you much better for next psych course. It's like the time I almost tested out of college algebra to take calculus. If I had taken calculus without college algebra I probably would've failed.

I would go ahead and take a higher level of Psych. That's what I'm doing anyways.

Why move backward?

Exactly. I'm sure that even if you don't remember a lot of it, it will come back to you. Most teachers, whether in college or high school, seem to do a review of the basics at the beginning of the year.

Retake psych 1 if there's no benefit...sometimes it's good to review information while you're getting adjusted to college...

The amount of information you'd need from an Intro to Psych course for a more advanced one in the field is little enough that you can just review it when needed. Take the waiver, take the more advanced class, and as a result if you enjoy Pyschology you'll be able to skip a BS intro class and spend more time learning about the details of a field you like.

A neursocience major means a fair amount of time clocked with psych/behavioral neuro, so I pompously assert myself as a moderate authority.

Also this is not analagous because you don't need to know what operant conditioning is to study borderline personality disorder in the same way that you need to know basic math for other, more advanced math.
