I had no idea they were closing down but I had one or two geocities 'sites' as well. I know exactly what you mean! My friends and I all thought we were so cool making up sites with pages like 'kool msn names' or whatever...

Oh god... I think I just died a little. Oh, and I did some of that crap many years ago. Me and one of my friends. I to was thrilled when our free webhosting was deleting everything and going down. Unfortunately, my friend still had backups of EVERYTHING and decided to put them on his server. And buy the .us of my user name (lesson learned, always buy EVERY possible variation when you are buying domains) So yeah, now he will email me, IM me, even text me randomly with the link, just to remind me what an idiot I was.

I am also rather very happy about that. At one point though, I did buy a domain and some space from them for about $9 a month. Now I can get that much cheaper. It's crazy to think about how time changes in only a few years.

lol I also made a geociticies site when I was still in 7th grade. I thought I'm so cool to have a page like that...lol. Now, I completely forgot about it until I received an email from them informing me that they will be closing down.
