I bascially see it as someone who jumps into things too quickly (without thinking about the consequences or knowing someone very well) or someone who is really controlling and won't let their significant go to the mall and shit.

0. ANYONE who thinks looks or money are a good enough basis on their own to form a relationship. Shallow idiots, all of them.
1. Someone who jumps into a relationship without knowing the person first (ACTUALLY knowing them. Not just in passing or knowing a few bits of trivia about the person, not just asking that person's friends, etc).
2. Someone who is stupid. As in, intellectually challenged.
3. Someone who wants to get married young and have children young and things the whole thing is rainbows and butterflies. This is almost worst than the first two.
4. People who are in a relationship for the sake of being in a relationship (see: serial monogamy)
5. People who think serial monogamy is a good way to find a long-term partner.
6. People who think one-night stands are a good way to find a long-term partner.
7. People who think jealousy is a good thing for any reason. (Jealousy is ALWAYS bad. ALWAYS.)
8. Anyone who uses the relationship as a means of controlling someone.
9. Anyone who abuses someone through a relationship; this goes double if they don't think it's wrong.
10. Someone who intentionally stays in an abusive or controlling relationship. While it's not nearly as bad as being the abuser, you're clearly not too bright in the relationship department if you don't realize you need to get OUT. If it's a matter of personal safety, get the police involved.
Those are some the basic ones I can think of off the top of my head. Now for some more controversial ones - these I don't really think of as "stupid" but more things I simply don't understand or think are pointless and silly.
1. Someone who gets married for anything but strictly legal reasons. I don't understand the point of marriage. A healthy long term relationship should be a healthy long term relationship. Marriage just adds some nice legal benefits and a piece of paper, and makes it a fuckload more complicated if anything goes wrong.
2. People who think a romantic relationship is completely different from a close friendship. I don't understand this one at all. The only difference is a couple details when you get down to what really matters, the core is identical in both cases, unless you fall under #4 above - being in a relationship for the sake of being in a relationship. Note that #4 above can be the case whether the person realizes it or not, and I suspect most teen relationships fall under #4 to some extent or other.
3. This one might earn me some flak. I don't think most people are truly compatible with monogamy, especially exclusive monogamy. Look at the divorce rate, look at how much people punish themselves simply for liking another human being. Look at how jealous people get over stupid shit. I see situations all the time that with some time, effort, and open-mindedness could end as a win-win instead of a lose-lose, solely because people stick to this silly notion that exclusive monogamy is only way.

A true intellectual, Thank you. You really summed it up for me and see through the bullshit we are constantly surrounded by. I kind of agree with your last #3, But if the two people are married, it could lead to other very serious problems.
