My friends, Dan and Phil, went out tonight with me. They ended up drinking too much and were slightly less inhibited then they probably should have been. Dan saw a girl walking across the street and said, "lesbian." She asked him to repeat what he said, so he said, "lesbian" again. She then proceeded to punch him in the face. He apologized for the comment and she punched him in the face again. Dan is not a tall person, but he is very well built so the punches didn't exactly do a significant amount of damage. Nonetheless, he is now the proud owner of a black eye as a result of his interaction with this girl. After the incident, Dan and I got into an extended discussion about whether or not he should have hit back. I believe that he should have hit back after she punched him the first time because I treat females as equals. He believes that women should not be hit, even in retaliation, because they are physically weaker. Should he have hit back given the circumstances? tl;dr Do you hit a girl if she punched you in the face?

Honestly, I would never hit a female under any circumstances. Even is she punched me. There is nothing wrong with protecting your face and grabbing her fists to stop her from hitting you, but I would never fight back. That's just wrong, imo.

I think he should have executed a defensive maneuver such as blocking or putting her in some kind of hold rather than hit her, but not just sit there and take it.

Most likely. Given my size, and lack of muscles, that'd be the only thing stopping me.

I don't fight with anyone weaker than me (granted, I'm weak as fuck) so I wouldn't hit a girl. Now, if she was 6'2 and 250lbs that would be a different story... but otherwise I'd just be on the defense.
