FTF, would you be happy if you died of old age and your finial breath was taken in the drivers seat of a ford tempo? (of course the car is parked)
Tough to say. I'd be happy if I left the world better off then when I came into it. Ford was doing amazing things in the 1980s with cars like Taurus, Tempo, and Thunderbird. Not only were the products fantastic, but they were executing a lot of strategies and methods of marketing that modern day automakers would do well to replicate. Insane shit back then. Like a 1989 Tempo came with a better, longer warranty then any new American car. It really does show that product quality and good advertising strategies pay off, because nearly everything Ford was making was becoming an instant success in terms of sales. The Taurus sat at the forefront of all this innovation, but the Tempo, Thunderbird, F-Series, Mustang, and even the lowly Escort all pulled their own weight in cash flow. So I figure I've got a decent shot to do everything in my power to bring back some of the better aspects of what Ford was doing in the 80s. Not saying it was all great back then, it wasn't. The product cycles were too long, and a lot of the cars (Taurus and Tempo in particular) didn't stand the test of time too well. Not because they were bad products, more because they really require regular maintenance to be taken seriously. Unfortunately, not too many second and third owners gave them that sort of treatment, and then they started blowing shock, struts, and transmissions. @Eric, yes I am implying something.
so in short, you wouldn't mind dying in one. -.-

In short, I have no opinion on that question. Ask again in 40 years.

Few updates. Called up the number, turns out its odometer has turned over already. That is right, this battle scarred Alaskan brute of a two door compact is sitting with 163,xxx on the clock. All original parts, and the seller is boasting drip dry reliability. Interior is in excellent condition, and the engine looks solid. No mysterious oil spots or puddles under the engine bay. It too is needing a new paint job simply because the last touch up to the Tempo's Oxford White flanks was poorly done. This old beast of a machine even outwitted the government. Being a 1984, it could be churning out more pollutants then a F-350 and getting 12 to the gallon, and it would still be exempt from the CARS act (aka. Cash for Clunkers). Pick up the mother fuckin' Tempo of you life. The price? $500. She even has a name; Rhyme. I'm going to ask if I could make a down payment until the first check from fishing comes through, as well as maybe a test drive.

Its not like it can hurt. Try to haggle down, if he is completely against it, just be "Oh. Well. I guess Ill take it for $500 then" Sure, you will seem desperate, but Im sure its not the first time
