Being an Al Pacino fan, as well as a Robert De Niro fan, I went into this movie with large expectations. For almost all 2008's movies, I found that I had to have low expectations to enjoy most of them. However, it's a different story with Righteous Kill.
Righteous Kill starts out with De Niro confessing to multiple murders and then goes right into explaining the background between his and Pacino's long-time cop partnership. Overall, the movie is full of action, and has a twist I did not see coming!
The Good:
+ 2 of the best actors of all time partner up
+ Full of action and multiple plot twists
+ Once I thought it was over, there was still 15 minutes left
+ Some of the best acting I seen in 2008
+ Hollywood doesn't hand you everything there is to this movie, a lot of figuring out to do
The Bad:
- Confusion for a good 10 minutes about halfway through. Necessary for the ending, however
- Very deep story for a short amount of time
- Was not well marketed, dull cover makes it look bland
Final Say:
I loved every minute of Righteous Kill. I, however, did not miss a single minute of it and that is probably why I understood the ending. What Righteous Kill succeeded in was how hard it throws a plot twist at the end. If you're looking for a deep action/suspense movie, check it out.
