When I go to the text tool, the size is always .01pt or -2484237pt (Don't ask, it's bugged). When I do finally get it to change without error messages for having a negative number, it doesn't type. Text and foreground is set to black, but it doesn't 'render' the text. The layer name changes according to the text though.

By the sounds of it, you may have to uninstall and then reinstall to try to fix the bug.

Do you have a custom style on your computer? If so (i.e. Windows blinds) that may be messing with the text stuff.

Nah, I use Vista with uxtheme hack. Fixed this problem by deleting Photoshop's cache folder.
