I have been wanting to walking the E-8 path and the E-1 path since I was young, but I have no idea how much it would cost.
I'm guessing it would take a year to walk the paths. I would be eating cheap junk from stores and what ever I find and the few boat trips wouldn't cost much.
If I average $10 a day and it took exactly 365 days to do it would cost $3650 + $3000 for flights + $500 for unforeseen complications would be $7150. Does sticking to this budget seem possible at all? Any other expenses I am missing?

Well on flat ground if you walked 12 hours a day you could do about 30 miles in that time (given a a lunch break and bathroom breaks)

30 miles = 48 km

the total for Ireland is 600km

so it would take about 13 days (at 12 hours)

if you walked 6 hours a day it would take 26days

The total for UK is 300km
so 6 or 13 days ECT

So you can figure for the total trip of 4390km that if you walked 12 hours a day it would take 92 days

if you did only 6 hours it would be 184 days etc. though I would think you would walk atleast 6 hours a day.

You need to consider where you will sleep in your budget as well . Laundry service in the UK is about 3.50 for a wash and depending what your drying 2-4 pounds. little things like that Plus I assume you will be flying back from the end of the route so you will need a multi flight ticket (sometimes pricey) and it will need to be openended. Also if there are any events or local sights you want to see in certin places those will cost $$ and also time so you need to consider that.
