What would one expect from Texas. It's an intellectual black hole! For most texans the concept of the enlightenment period has something to do with the Bible.
Religious extremism is harmful -- no matter what country or what religion. Rewriting history or science texts to match extreme religious views is totally unacceptable. For years, the Texas Board of Education worked to stack the deck to be able to dictate these textbook changes and finally succeeded. This is worse than book burning. Everyone is free to believe what they want; just don't force those beliefs upon others. We need freedom from religion as much as freedom for religion.
