KC school district announced, after a big meeting yesterday that 29 of their 61 schools would be closed by fall.

KC was one of the first schools to go under federal control and forced to desegregate and got massive amounts of federal funding. the recently lost this federal funding when that forced desegregation was declared successful and the school has struggled ever since.

I find this deplorable. 700 of 3000 jobs will be lost.

Agreed. I imagine that this will drastically impact every school in the district.
