well, more because the UCLA was going to sue them for not letting the girl bring her girlfriend :-P
but it IS rather dumb that
a) they wouldn't let her
b) they would cancel the whole prom just because they still won't let her

Yup. I read that. Fucking shame. The staff is so damn close-minded! And the most fun thing in their town is a freaking BOWLING ALLEY, and now they don't have a prom period because they can't handle two girls as dates at a prom.
