It's most likely something you don't need to worry about. It's probably been there your entire life and you just noticed it. Above your thyroid cartilage (Adam's Apple) in your neck is the hyoid bone. It's possible that's what you are feeling. I really wouldn't worry too much, but if you are concerned then the only way to find out is to go to your doctor. Again, I wouldn't fret too much. Keep an eye on it for any changes in size, shape, etc if you do not go to the doctor. Also as has been stated, it could just be a swollan gland which can be caused by many things. But, the only way to know for sure is to seek medical attention. Good luck!

i have found the same lump in my neck just above my adam's apple slightly to the right i also have 2 or more swollen lymph nodes in my neck and 1 in my groin. the part in my neck above the adam's apple is not a gland/node it has something to do with your thyroid (i think havnt seen my doc yet) or could be cancer,thyroid bone,or maybe mobile lymph node. if anyone knows it will be your gp

hey guys had exactly the same thing as you have had went to the doctors today was told its a cyst and am being reffed to a ear nose and throat specialist to have it removed and see if the lump is cancerous i was told the exact name of it but have forgotten it now.i was told that it was very rare that it would turn cancerous but my advice to you is to have it checked out don't be affraid to have it looked at after all they are there to help you.do you have any other swollen lumps anywhere else on the neck or head i have one in my cheek witch is also a cyst and a lymph gland swollen on the side of my neck i was told this was due to my neck piece(tattoo).kind regards .j
