If I was a victim of a crime, do I HAVE to go to court (as a witness)? It is during the same time as my job interview that cannot be rescheduled so that means just because I was a victim of a crime, I now have to be punished for it by not being able to attend a job interview...... thats unfair to me...

You never have to be a witness. That is a choice. They will highly pressure you to do it, but you can not be forced.

Well, if you receive a subpoena, then you are required to go to court, you can either go willingly or you can have them come and get you instead. Did you receive a subpoena in the mail? It will tell you. If not, then you can phone the court house and ask them just to be safe that you won't get in trouble for not attending--if you skip with a subpoena, you will have a warrant for your arrest.

If there is no way getting out of the court visit, then talk to the person who is interviewing you and tell them because technically, they have to let you go and not base any decisions off something like this. Ask the person if you can perhaps come in a little early, or if you can come in a little later. You can work something out.

Have you talked to the job interview people about this?  I mean, I don't see why they wouldn't reschedule if they knew the circumstances of your situation.  You should be excused for it.
