So the "no contribution" guideline doesn't apply in some forums? Or some topics? How are we supposed to know which is which?

I didn't say it didn't apply,  I just said the "isn't specifically +1 post"'s removal will be based on the content of the topic and what forum it's in.  A spammy post in DTRM will be less likely to be removed than a spammy post in TDEI.  Similar to the encouraging harm rule.  Tell someone to die in DTRM is okay, but in TDEI it isn't.

It's very hard to post a non contributory post in DTRM that isn't literally "+1".

It's a fact that we have both support and social forums.  It's also widely known that we don't moderate DTRM the same way we moderate TDEI.

In DTRM, I usually only remove posts for "no contribution" if they have absolutely nothing to do with the topic, if it's an attack, if it's turning into a flame fest etcetera.  "+1" posts I remove, but posts like "cool story bro" I'd be less inclined to remove if the topic had no direct question, and was just a spammy DTRM topic.  But once again, it all depends on the content of the topic, and in some cases the context of the actual post e.g. if they're quoting some else's post.

DTRM is a swirling bucket of pig-swill where all guidelines are less strictly enforced because it's just folks chatting. For some reason, I think you've been told this before but once more never hurts, I suppose.
