I need to build myself a new desk, because the one I have now is way too small. I need room for my laptop, a second monitor, and the printer.

However, I'm not exactly sure how I should design it. It'll be used for a long time, so I want to make sure everything is as best as can be. And I'm using SketchUp, so it'll be easy to fix or change things.

I wanted to ask you guys what you would really like to have in a desk. Anything at all. Most desks I see are more easy on the eye than practical. And practicality is what I'm aiming for. So, yeah, any design suggestions?

I designed an awesome desk for a studio I built at my local youth club, I then went on to build it. I'll try upload some pics of the designs and the final thing...
I used the designs for my DT A level project and got an A.

wow, EPIC fail. I'm working on getting them in jpg.

EDIT: fixed, the first shows how it was constructed, the hand drawn one was the initial idea, it changed quite a bit. They're just screenshots from my final folio PDF so they're not brilliant quality.

I'll definitely take a look at them, Arquette, thanks. :)

I like your desk, Sus. It looks and while still maintaining practicality. I'll definitely use it as inspiration for my own design.

Once my post count goes up, I'll post some photos of the desk I made a few months ago.

GC, that goatinatree design is old, by the state of the man's monitor. But what I liked the most was, it was cheaply put together.

Alternatively, you might consider getting an old desk and improving it, like this guy did, when you scroll down.

and you might get some inspiration on some of these cunning ideas from hard forums.com

I wish I could get an IKEA desk and just modify the hell out of it, haha. I bet it would be great fun.

And thanks for the new links! Now I have more crap to load. xD

By the way, I giggled at 'hard forums', baha.
