I tried the PC demo, it was not the most realistic thing out there. If you want realism play some GTR2, Race07, Live For Speed... I've heard good things about Dirt 2. I played the first one and the demo to the second, both were fun. Especially if you have any interest in rally racing.
omg, PC demo, really? get it for a real system on a big screen with a controller, and it's GOOD. it's all the little things - like cranking over to hard and you get snap oversteer, you get bogged and can't turn in gravel without feathering the throttle, the apexes KILL you if you don't hit them, the drifting is a mix of counter-steer, braking, and gas. it's all very good.

Your parents dropped you on your head when you were young, right? I didn't play with a keyboard, I played with an X360 controller. And it is on the same screen I play some of the best looking games out there one (Far Cry 2, Crysis...). Just because the screen is smaller does not change the resolution. I was playing at 1680x1050 with settings on high, that is higher than the the native resolution of the X360 version (720p). I am 1.5ft from my monitor, it's like you sitting 10ft away from a big screen. Go play a real driving sim, then come back and you might understand why it is not the most realistic thing out there. For real driving sims you do not want to be stuck using a controller. If I had the money I would buy a G35 wheel so I could actually compete to a reasonable level on hardcore driving sims. What you described is something that people have been experiencing for over 5 years now. Console gamers are just catching on to the fun.

for me, resolution doesn't matter if it's on a small screen - no matter how close you are to the screen. and i didn't say MOST realistic, i just said "SO realistic." if you spend $$$ sure you can go out and buy a hardcore setup, but for the average gamer who doesn't care that much, it's very accurate. NONE of the old need for speeds paid this much attention to detail, and i find it better than the gran turismos as well. for the normal gamer, i think it's one of the best around. of course, there's no substitution for the real thing, but we aren't trying to kid ourselves. there's reasons God made canyons and german's made BMW's. but we can't go do it everyday

I can honestly say it is good game, I have been thinking about buying it, the only thing stopping me is being between jobs right now. NFS Porsche Unleased was pretty realistic for it's time, it has been attempted by the series before. I'd rate the realism similar to that of TOCA3, which I have played a lot of. It has better graphics and an even better physics model. It is as realistic as arcadey racers with realistic physics can go. Still isn't near the realism if a good sim, so calling it "SO realistic" is taking it a step too far.
