The second one looks better to use in a car, if that is your purpose. Better to mount. Although there might be stuff to mount the first unit, it would take up a lot more vertical space.

Well, it's not really for a lot of car use. I figured, if I got a hand held one, I could take it a lot more places.

Haven't seen many people carry around a CB. Usually the only people I have seen carry around radios are people who partake in amateur radio activities, different from CB.
