We talked online for the first time since the beginning of this semester and I initiated the conversation because I was curious about where he was headed next year, which ironically is where I'm at right now.

Anyway I figured I'd be bothering him because he wouldn't really want to talk to an ex, but we talked inadvertently for over 2 hours before I had to go to bed.

I told him that I thought of texting him and that I didn't because I didn't want to bother him same with iming, but he said that I was never a bother and it was great to talk to me again.

It sounds like he's ready to be friends again, right? I thought most guys didn't like to keep friendships with their exs, but from what he said maybe I'm wrong...

it sounds to me like he wants to be friends.  dont rush into it or make him feel claustrophobic, but yeah id pursue it

I still hang out with my ex (Mind, we both have someone else we're in love with xP), and he's back to being my best friend, just like before :)
